What to Eat on a Plant-Based or Vegetarian Diet: Your Best Food List

“What can I actually eat on a plant-based or vegetarian diet?”

It is natural to be curious about your options.

Carrots and broccoli are given. So are all plant-based foods “suitable” to eat?

Often times our customers want to know about things like:

  • Is peanut butter a good source of protein?
  • How often should I eat soy products?
  • How do I get enough omega 3 oil since I don’t eat fish?
  • Are plant-based hamburgers suitable?
  • Can I eat pasta on a plant-based diet? (Please say yes…?)

Also, it can be difficult to determine which plant-based foods fit into which macronutrient categories.

Have a chickpea, lentil, and veggie burger. Mostly protein? Carbohydrates? Fat? (HELP!)

Questions like these are why we created this useful, visual menu for plant-based and vegetarian eaters.

Fair warning: We will not tell you that certain foods are “good” and “bad” or that there is a “right” way to eat.

This is not our style. But we intention It shows you how to think about foods, from “eating more” to “eating a little” to “eating less.”

This approach supports one of the most important philosophies of our nutrition coaching method: Progress is not perfection.

Use our continuity to make “slightly better” choices while strolling down the grocery aisles, cooking a homemade meal or ordering from a menu.

Also learn how to:

  • Add a mix of plant-based proteins, vegetables, carbohydrates, and fats.
  • Strategically improve your food choices – depending on what you’re eating right now – to feel, move, and look better.
  • Customize your intake for your personal lifestyle, goals, and (of course) taste buds.
