A bright and glowing skin is not just a product of makeup. A lot goes into it. It needs a proper lifestyle, habits, beauty, and exercises for improving the skin’s conditions. 1. Avoid Direct Sunlight

Protection from sunlight is of utmost importance. Although sunlight provides Vitamin D, increased exposure can cause a lifetime of wrinkles, skin problems, and aging. It also can increase the chance of an individual getting skin cancer.

In order to protect yourself from sun exposure, try and wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 15. Apply it after every 2 hours, especially if you are engaged in an activity such as swimming etc.

Try to avoid the sun during 10 am to 4 pm. This is the time when the sun rays are quite strong. Last but not the least, you can also wear covered clothing or sun-protective clothing to block the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun.

2. Avoid drugs and smoke

Smoking is harmful to health and the same goes for the skin. It contributes to problems such as wrinkles and aging. When you smoke, your blood vessels become tiny in the outermost skin layer and this makes your skin pale and dull. It also depletes the skin from all the healthy nutrients.

In addition to these, your skin also loses elastin and collagen which are responsible for your skin’s elasticity and strength.  Lastly, smoking also increases the risk for having skin cancer. It is always best to avoid or quit smoking if you are doing it.

3. Treating  skin gently

Always treat your skin in a gentle and soft way. Some of the ways can be:

Avoid long hot water showers. Try to have warm water showers. You also need to avoid strong detergents which would otherwise deprive your skin of healthy oils. Try to use mild cleansers. Men need to shave carefully and apply an after-shave. After washing your face, pat it gently instead of rubbing it against the towel. This will keep the skin moisturized.  Individuals with dry skin must use a moisturizer according to their skin type. Moisturizers are also available with SPF which you can wear when going outside.

4. Always opt for a healthy diet

Everyone knows the benefits of a healthy and balanced diet. A healthy diet not only keeps you fit but also makes you look your best. Consume vegetables, fruits, proteins, and grains, as these are considered as glowing skin food. Some research also suggests fish oil supplements and refined carbohydrates promote young-looking skin. In addition to eating, don’t forget to keep your body hydrated by drinking plenty of water. A fresh-looking skin is always well hydrated.

5. Don’t Stress

Unnecessary and uncontrolled stress makes your skin sensitive and prone to issues such as acne and blemishes. Similar to your body, healthy skin requires a healthy mind. Stress is part of life. Instead of fretting over it, try to manage it and set your limits. Get proper night’s sleep and delegate your work so you are not worn out. This way you will not only keep your personal and professional life under control but would also be able to maintain a glow on your skin.
